The Gameological Liveblog: Sony’s E3 2012 press conference

It’s hard to type when you’re crossing your fingers for a new PSP Go. But we’ll try.

John Teti here. I am an unabashed Jack Tretton fan. The CEO of Sony’s American gaming division, Jack may not be the most exciting personality you’ll see at E3. In fact, he may be one of the least exciting. But somehow he manages to come off as less fake than his counterparts at the other console makers. He just seems like a guy, up there on stage, talking about some games. I can’t help but like him.

That said, Sony’s press conference usually runs the longest of the E3 pressers—nobody understands the art of “leave them wanting more” less than this company—so by the end of this liveblog, my Jack Tretton love may have withered into mild Jack Tretton disdain. If so, forgive me, Jack, and chalk it up to the jet lag.

The Sony event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. Eastern / 6:00 p.m. Pacific. Gus and I will do our best to keep the updates flowing. As always, though, cell coverage can be spotty, so forgive us if the line goes silent for a stretch.
